Industry White Paper

nCino was launching advanced Explainable AI (XAI) capabilities within its credit decisioning tools, which was designed to help banks and credit unions make smarter, faster, and more transparent lending decisions. The challenge? Communicating the power and nuance of AI in a way that felt credible, understandable, and actionable for a financial audience that spans business, risk, and compliance stakeholders.

My Goal

Create a flagship thought leadership asset that would:

  • Establish nCino as a leader in responsible, explainable AI

  • Educate financial decision-makers on the benefits of XAI

  • Support product marketing, demand generation, and PR efforts

  • Anchor a multi-channel campaign with a high-value downloadable

My Approach:

To create a thought leadership white paper that demystified Explainable AI (XAI) for a highly regulated audience, I collaborated closely with product leads, data scientists, and compliance experts. Through these partnerships, I grounded the narrative in transparency, trust, and performance—key themes validated through competitor research and cross-functional alignment with Product Marketing and PR. I developed a modular content strategy to maximize reuse across channels, balancing plain-language storytelling with technical precision. I wrote and edited the full 2,000+ word paper, partnered with Design on visuals and layout, and worked with stakeholders to ensure regulatory accuracy. The final piece featured accessible explanations of XAI, real-world credit use cases, and clear takeaways on how explainability enhances fairness, speed, and auditability.

Results

  • Anchored a multi-channel campaign across web, social, email, and webinars

  • Generated qualified leads for AI-related demos

  • Used by Sales and Customer Success as an educational resource

  • Positioned nCino as a credible thought leader in AI for financial services
